Frame tape is a self-adhesive foam tape most commonly used on metal or wooden frames. The tape seals the gap between the frame and other structures, reduces resonance, dampens sound, and facilitates installation.
Frame tape is used, for example, during the installation of plasterboards and partition wall frames. The heat-insulating closed-cell tape also breaks the thermal bridge.
During underlay installation, frame tape is applied under the batten used to fix the underlay. This seals the nails driven through the batten, minimizing water penetration through the nail holes.
